Mosler 'Land Shark' gunning for production car speed record... or not
Last month Mosler’s race-derived anniversary model, the Mosler MT900 GTR XX, went on sale boasting 600bhp in a lightweight 1111kg car. It looked to be the ultimate track day package, but design company Intense Automotive reckons it can trump that with a 2500bhp version.
Nicknamed ‘The Land Shark’, the Intense Automotive (Ed, who?) Mosler reportedly weighs just 861kg when fully loaded, 250kg lighter than the original. That’s some claim, as the stripped GTR XX also gets several fuel tanks to house its petrol, methanol, hydrogen and ethanol fuel mix.
The car’s designer, one John Gocha (or should that be Gotcha) is claiming to have Michael Schumacher lined up for a test drive around the Nurburgring.
Gocha also intends to have the speed of the Land Shark verified by the chaps from the Guinness World Records at the Bonneville Speed Week, according to his press release. The same press release that claims the chassis can be put together by hand in 20mins... Oh, OK, we get it...
